Volunteer registration is now open for Queer East Festival 2026
Queer East returns on 1 May for our seventh instalment, and we are seeking a team of enthusiastic volunteers to join us in delivering this year’s festival. Queer East volunteers will not only gain hands-on experience working in event organising, but they will also have access to festival events and join a vibrant community of like-minded queer arts and cinema fans who share a passion for queer East and Southeast Asian representation in the arts and cultural sector.
About Queer East
Queer East is a cross-disciplinary festival that showcases boundary-pushing LGBTQ+ cinema, live arts, and moving image work from East and Southeast Asia and its diaspora communities. Our seventh edition runs from 1 May to 6 June in venues across London, exploring what it means to be queer and Asian today.
What you will do:
As a Queer East volunteer, your tasks may include front-of-house support, venue set-up, event assistance, hospitality, marketing, and photography.
What we provide:
- £10 per day to compensate for travel and food expenses.
- Complimentary tickets to festival screenings, performances, and events.
- Queer East tote bag
- Second Thoughts Magazine Issue 0
If you’re interested:
This is a fantastic opportunity for people who are passionate about LGBTQ+ film, arts and culture, and who are positive, proactive, keen to get involved, and ready to take initiative. If this sounds like you, please read the guidance and complete our Volunteer Registration Form, along with sending us your one-page CV. One of our team members will then be in touch.
